Forgetting for a moment that “it” is neither a “robot” nor a “man” (it’s actually more of a cybernetic-ape-alien) “Ro-Man,” from the 1953 movie “Robot Monster,” is the first in my series of classic, cheesy 1950’s sci-fi movie monsters rebooted so that they would have actually frightened me if I’d seen them on Saturday afternoon on Monster Movie Matinee as a kid… but, then again, Sleestaks frightened be as a kid, so that’s not saying much.
Another b-day Grindhouse poster for buddy Chris C. …this time it’s a cop done wrong revenge / biker flick with hints of “Ms. 45.” & “Dirty Harry” & “Super Cops” influenced by1970s, Italian “Poliziotteschi” films… which rock!
This is a portrait I did for The Earth’s Mightiest Bastards (of which I am the one on the far right), which I am proud to say has reached the ripe old age of #68 pods… do you really wanna miss the #69th? Seriously? I mean that sh*t is FREE, FILTHY and FUNNY!
Okay, so quit effin’ around and get on the Bastards’ Bandwagon! There’s all kinds of ways to listen on yer pad or mobile device including a free itunes link!
In regards to my sweet-ass illo, my apologies to Doraemon (ドラえもん) … and please, to all of my Japanese speaking buddies, waste not your time on the text (with the exception of the rough translation of The Earth’s Mightiest Bastards) all of the words were stolen from random old adverts and mean absolutely nothing in this context… I just got a kick out of it graphically!
